It was the mother of all meetings at the house of the PM, Dr Manmohan SIngh. It was attended by the PM Manmohan Singh, AICC President Sonia Gandhi, and the core committee members including Pranab Mukherjee, Dig Vijay Singh and Ahmad Patel. The primary discussion according to reports emerging was the scenario unfolding in Andhra Pradesh. Prior to the meeting KK and KVP had met Ahmad Patel and briefed him about the swell of support that Y S Jagan was enjoying back in the state. Apparently this time the core committee and the PM and AICC President had by now decided that Y S Jagan would be a natural choice. Though a formal announcement is awaited it is by now certain that Y S Jagan would in all probability succeed Rosaiyyah as the C M of A.P. It is reliably learnt that the AICC President is also following the by poll in Tekkali and the unusally high voter turnout (of 76%)is indicative of a victory to the Congress. The counting is expected to be completed by Monday 14th September and the result will be announced soon thereafter.
