It’s a phenomenon that’s occurred quite often in Kajal Aggarwal’s life; just when she was getting used to the comfort of the perfect present, she plunged head first into an unknown, challenge-filled future. It happened first when she was just out of college, full of dreams, with a desire to be in front of the camera. She was an urban girl in every sense of the term, but as luck would have it, she was cast as a rural belle in her first Telugu film, Lakshmi Kalyanam.
And now, the phenomenon has struck yet again and how! Basking in the glory of the superhit Maghadheera, she could have easily gone on to settle in Hyderabad and Tollywood. But, she’s in Chennai right now, doing a Tamil movie, and a biggie at that! Kajal is currently Paruthiveeran Karthi’s heroine in his upcoming movie titled Naan Mahan Alla, which promises to be her big break in Kollywood.
“It’s a cute love story,” she gushes excitedly, “It depends heavily on the chemistry between the characters. The director (Susindran) showed a lot of promise when he narrated the story to me, and now, I’m shooting for it with a lot of concentration and involvement.”
Talking a little bit about her character in the film, she says, “I play Priya. She works at a bank. She’s young, independent and somebody I can totally relate to.” The overwhelming success of Maghadheera has made her a lot more mature and careful about her future. “I knew that the film would click at the box office,” she states with pride, “When the director narrated the story, he was clear and focused. I was sure that it would do well.”
