Congress seniors in state get a second wind

Posted by Shanker Wednesday, September 23, 2009

When DR YSR was alive he had summarily disposed off seniors to a state of forced retirement. Across the state all the political elderly were banished from active participation in their respective districts. But after his tragic and untimely death the seniors have got a second wind. Slowly but surely they are making their presence felt. It is not as if AICC in Delhi has welcomed them back with an in person invitation. But they are looking (perhaps a little too much, one should say) hopefully into the fact that Delhi has decided to continue with one of their kind – an Octogenarian CM Roasiah. The two most active voices that can be heard in Delhi are NJR and GV. Both were (rather humiliatingly) sidelined by Dr YSR and now they are paying it back by openly voicing their support. But political analysts are saying that too much should not be read into Delhi’s decision of continuing with Roasiah and Y S Jagan according to them will still continue to play a dominant role in the state’s politics.
