Rosaiah told to shift to YSR’s chamber

Posted by Shanker Saturday, September 26, 2009

The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, has set to rest all speculations about his continuance by choosing Dasara to enter the C Block, the seat of the Chief Minister in the Secretariat.

Congress sources said the high command has instructed Mr Rosaiah to move into the Chief Minister’s chambers and function as the full-fledged head of state. He reportedly got a call on Friday from Mr Ahmed Patel, the key aide of the party chief, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, about this.
The Chief Minister will move to the C Block from the present D Block at 9 am on September 28. The muhurtam has been fixed by Vedic pundits. “He will enter the new block after performing puja on Vijayadasmi,” said an aide of the Chief Minister. “The officials have made changes in the chambers as desired by Mr Rosaiah. His chair is positioned facing the north, unlike his predecessor, whose chair faced east.”
Mr Rosaiah till now has been functioning from the finance minister’s chamber in D Block. In view of the hazy political situation and the move to make YSR’s son Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy the successor of his father, the veteran leader was reluctant to move into the Chief Minister’s chambers. Mr Rosaiah said he also avoided going to the CM chamber as it reminded him of his close friend the late YSR.
The newfound confidence of Mr Rosaiah was evident on Friday, when he said that Mrs Gandhi does not remove Chief Ministers frequently and allows her nominees to prove their mettle.
