The Telugu Desam’s revamped politburo and state committees are likely to be announced on Sunday with women expected to get a sizeable number of posts.
It is learnt that the party president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, may include four to five new faces in the politburo and its strength might go up from 13 to 18.
Sources said Mr Naidu is keen on providing at least one-third posts to women to groom them for the next Assembly elections and attract women voters.
The TD women leaders like Ms Pratibha Bharathi, Ms N. Rajkumari, Ms Seethakka, Ms Kavitha, Ms Seetaramalaxmi, Ms Swarnakumari, Ms Shakuntala, Ms Rajani Kumari among others are sure to get plum posts.
Mr Ramesh Rathod, Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mr M. Narasimhulu and Mr Harishwar Reddy may find place besides Mr Yerrannaidu, Mr P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Mr E. Dayakar Rao, Mr K.E. Krishnamurthy, Mr Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Mr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Mr N. Harikrishna, Mr Zahed Ali Khan, Mr P. Keshav, Mr T. Devender Goud, Ms Bharathi, Mr Nama Nageswara Rao, Mr Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, Mr Umareddy Venkateswarulu, Dr M.V. Mysoora Reddy, Mr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and Mr Tummala Nageswara Rao’s names are are doing the rounds for the politburo. Sources said the names of Mr Ramakrishnudu, Mr Yerrannaidu, Mr P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Ms Bharathi, Mr Janardhan Reddy, and Mr Dayakar Rao have reportedly been finalised.
