Jagan-as-CM: EO’s no to board’s resolution by TTD board

Posted by Shanker Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Timely intervention by TTD executive officer IYR Krishna Rao saved the TTD trust board from a major embarrassment during a condolence meeting held in honour of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy here on Monday.
It all started when Tuda chief Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who is also an ex-officio member of TTD, sought board chief D K Adikeshavulu Naidu to pass a resolution during the September 15 board meeting proposing YS Jaganmohan Reddy as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and fax the letter to the party high command. It may be recalled Chevireddy broke 10,116 coconuts at Alipiri gate on Sunday to fulfill his wish of making Jagan as the next CM.
Krishna Rao intervened and told DK that politics were a no-no atop Tirumala.
He reportedly told them that if they want a resolution, they could forward it on their personal letter heads but cannot involve TTD. The 15-member TTD board includes EO and principal secretary, endowments (revenue), as ex-officio members. “Being government servants they are not supposed to involve themselves in political matters,” an official said. Other members are nominated from political and business backgrounds.
Meanwhile, Adikeshavulu said he would install a statue of late CM Rajasekhara Reddy in the temple town of Tirupati at his own expenditure as a fitting tribute.
