Befitting the stature of a people’s leader, politicians cutting across party lines paid Dr YSR tributes in the condolence meeting organized by the Congress. TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu said that he finds it difficult to imagine an assembly session without Dr YSR. Asaduddin Owaisi of the MIM said that it is almost impossible to come across a leader like Dr. YSR. He remembered the spontaneity of the late CM and said that Dr YSR was a man who was immensely moved by the plight of the poor Muslims. During a visit to the old city, Asaduddin recollected that Dr YSR had asked him “what do you want Asad?” Asaduddin then told the CM about the poor drainage conditions in the old city and said works on the same would require hundreds of crores. To his surprise the CM asked “Where do you want me to announce this Asad?” Asaduddin opined that announcement near the Charminar would be a good choice. “The CM announced Rs. 2000 crores sanction even as the officials near him said that they had to consult the financial position”. He was a man of conviction and heart, Rich tributes were also paid by communist leaders and PRP party chief Chiranjeevi.
